Apple yesterday released the second beta of iOS 11.1 beta 2 with quite a number of new enhancements and features. This includes hundreds of new emoji and reintroduction of the 3D Touch App Switching gesture.

There are also a couple of noticeable bug fixes in iOS 11.1 beta 2 along with a small enhancement for the Emergency SOS feature.

What’s New in iOS 11.1 beta 2

  • As announced by Apple, iOS 11 beta 2 contains hundreds of new Unicode 10 emoji
  • Reintroduction of the 3D Touch App Switcher – You can now 3D Touch to switch back to a previous app or go back to the App Switcher
  • Reachability bug present in iOS 11.1 beta 1 has been fixed
  • Emergency SOS settings have been tweaked. There is now an option to disable the Countdown Sound
  • Lag in Portrait camera mode has been fixed on the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus
  • There are also minor speed improvements, with animations being slightly smoother
