As we eagerly wait for iOS 11.1.2 jailbreak, here’s another hint that the release is imminent. Jay Freeman, aka Saurik, founder of Cydia, has just revealed that he is working on updating Cydia for iOS 11.
I never made “millions” and I currently lose a lot of money each month on Cydia. I now have a “day job” where I spend a bunch of my earnings to pay for it (which I then have to balance with Cydia work). I am working on the iOS 11 updates even so, because despite people like you always trying to dispell people from thanking me for my efforts, I have managed to maintain my passion for the concept of jailbreaking as I truly believe in the concept.
Saurik has been one of the main pillars of the jailbreak community, so it is disappointing to see people attacking him. It is amazing that he continues to maintain Cydia even though he is losing “thousands of dollars” every month.
We are fast approaching the 10th anniversary of Cydia, which has been installed on more than 30 million jailbroken iOS devices. So if you would like to support him, you can make a donation by visiting his website.
Meanwhile, iOS developer and hacker, Abraham Mastri aka @cheesecakeufo has tweeted a screenshot to reveal that he has managed to get Cydia to run on iOS 11.1.2 using the tfp0 iOS 11.1.2 exploit but it is “super limited” at the moment. He has also mentioned that quite a lot of work needs to be done.
We’ll keep you posted if we have any further updates about iOS 11.1.2 jailbreak. Exciting times ahead!
