Apple has officially seeded the latest developer beta software for the newest iteration of iOS.
Today, Apple seeded the sixth developer beta of iOS 11.2. Apple released iOS 11.1 at the beginning of November.
Registered developers can download the latest iOS 11.2 beta from Apple’s dedicated Developer Center. If the proper configuration profile is installed in the iOS device of choice, the new pre-release software can also be downloaded and installed as an over-the-air update.
Apple also has the public beta program, which allows public beta testers to use the pre-release software. It is likely that the corresponding public beta to this developer version will be seeded soon.
As it stands right now, there is no word on what is different or new in the sixth iOS 11.2 developer beta. It is possible this is the final developer beta, with expectations that iOS 11.2 will launch to the public in the first week of December.
It’s also worth noting that the first developer beta did introduce new features and fixes. That includes a fix for the bug discovered in the stock calculator app, which caused rapid inputs to not register correctly. iOS 11.2 also introduces “SiriKit on HomePod,” which will allow for limited third-party app features to work with Siri via the upcoming smart speaker.
The second public beta of iOS 11.2 also introduced Apple Pay Cash to the mobile operating system. The feature was introduced this year, and has been in testing for quite some time. With the new feature, iOS users will be able to send cash to friends and family members directly through iMessage. If you want to see how to use the feature, click right here.
