A few days back, hacker and developer, Jonathan Levin, had released LiberiOS jailbreak for iOS 11.1.2 devices, the first jailbreak for iOS 11, iPhone X and iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
However, some users had failed to jailbreak their iOS devices due to “missing offset” error. Levin has released a new version of LiberiOS jailbreak to fix the issue. It also includes an updated GUI.
Here are the release notes for LiberiOS 11.0.1 update below:
- Now with a proper GUI thanks to the talented @horatiohno
- Supports all i-Devices, thanks to ARX8x
- Also even more stable due to proper cleanup in one special case. Shouldn’t crash on you, but let me know if it does.
- AMFId can be killed, be reborn, but will be just as debilitated 🙂
- Arbitrary Dylib loading works. NO, CYDIA SUBSTRATE WON’T. Not my problem – @Saurik owns this one
As mentioned in the release notes, it still doesn’t include Cydia, so it won’t be easy to install jailbreak tweaks, and most of the tweaks won’t work because Cydia Substrate is not compatible with iOS 11 – iOS 11.1.2. saurik is working on Cydia for iOS 11, so we hope it is released soon.
If you were not able to successfully jailbreak your iOS device with the first version of LiberiOS IPA, then you can download LiberiOS 11.0.1 from the official website. Avoid using mirrors as they could include malware. LiberIOS is free like most jailbreaks, so if someone is asking you to pay for it, then it is most likely a scam.
If you need help then you can use our step-by-step tutorial to jailbreak iOS 11 – iOS 11.1.2 using LiberiOS on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
If you were able to successfully jailbreak your iOS device using LiberiOS 11, then you don’t need to do anything. But you can reinstall the app by sideloading the latest version of the LiberiOS IPA by using the same method.
Meanwhile, saurik has also released that we could end up with 3 or more high profile jailbreak tools of which one of them is going to extremely different,
Let us know if you were able to successfully jailbreak your device with LiberiOS 11.0.1 in the comments section below.
