Apple has updated its website to reflect that the Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE connectivity will be available in Hong Kong and Singapore starting from February 2. The smartwatch will hit the retail stores on February 9.
In Hong Kong, prices for the smartwatch will start from HK$3,188, and it will be supported by 1O1O and csl3. In Singapore, it has been priced at S$598 with its LTE functionality supported by Singtel.
Apple had first unveiled the Apple Watch Series 3 alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone X at its September event in 2017. The smartwatch was initially available in the United States, China, parts of Europe, and a few other markets. Apple does not sell the LTE variant of the Apple Watch Series 3 in other parts of the world as operators in the market lack support for eSIM or due to other technological issues.
While similar to Apple Watch Series 2 in design, the latest iteration of the smartwatch features a barometric altimeter, optional cellular connectivity, water resistance for up to 50m, and a faster dual-core processor and wireless chip for up to 70 percent improvement in performance.
Apple makes use of the eSIM technology in the LTE variant of the Apple Watch Series 3. The watch will have the same number as your iPhone and allow users to make and receive calls through it.
