This Chinese Company Is Working on a iPhone X and Galaxy S9 Clone with In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

Ever heard of Doogee? It is a Chinese smartphone company that is known for making cheap knockoffs of iPhones and latest Galaxies. With the iPhone X already out and the Samsung Galaxy S9 leaking in renders, this Chinese company is now working on a clone which would give one the best of all worlds: the notch from the iPhone X, a centrally located vertical camera layout at the rear from the Galaxy S9, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Oh, and unlike the iPhone X, the Doogee V also features a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Given that Huawei, one of the largest Android smartphone makers, is also going to copy the notch design of the iPhone X with one of its upcoming phones, it is not surprising to see Doogee go down that route as well. What’s interesting, however, is the fact that this relatively unknown Chinese company has managed to include an in-display fingerprint scanner in its upcoming handset.

Even Samsung with all its engineering prowess could not finish the in-display fingerprint solution it was working on in time for the Galaxy S9. Now, since the handset has still not been released, it is unclear how good (or bad) Doogee V’s in-display fingerprint scanner is so there’s that as well.

In case you are interested, there is no release date known for the Doogee V yet and its specs remain unknown for now as well. Its price is also unknown but its unlikely to cost more than $300. And given Doogee’s previous track record, don’t expect the Doogee V to be available outside of China.
