Apple Seeds tvOS 11.2.5 and watchOS 4.2.2 Beta 3 to Developers

Apple has seeded the next developer betas for tvOS 11 and watchOS 4, letting developers get a head start on what’s coming next.

Apple has officially today seeded the third developer beta for tvOS 11.2.5 and watchOS 4.2.2, both the next updates for each individual platform. As is the case with the minor upticks in numbers, this is a minor update, and it is not likely that either beta will introduce any major new forward facing features for the end user.

Still, it is possible that they could welcome new features, and if that is indeed the case we will update this post accordingly.

To update the fourth- or fifth-generation Apple TV, you will need a registered profile with Apple, and then download the update via Xcode.

It is likely that Apple will seed a corresponding public beta of tvOS 11.2.5 sometime this week, but no exact date is known just yet.

Meanwhile, the same can be said for watchOS 4.2.2, being that this is a minor update that will more than likely focus on small behind-the-scenes fixes and other performance improvements. Developers that want to test the next beta seed can do so after downloading the necessary configuration profile from Appleā€™s Developer Center. After that, developers must download the software via the Apple Watch iOS app.

Once that is done, to install the pre-release software, the Apple Watch must be connected to the charger, have at least 50 percent battery life, and be within range of the iPhone.

The new betas are available now for registered developers.
