Apple continues to seed beta versions of its operating systems, with quick turnarounds for the next version even after a recent public release.

That trend continues with the newest beta seed for the watchOS platform. Today, Apple officially seeded the sixth developer beta of watchOS 4.3. At the time of publication, it is unknown what new features, if any, Apple is adding to the smartwatch’s operating system. This is an uptick in version number, though, so it is possible that this is more than just a minor update.

Apple released watchOS 4.2.2 earlier in January as well, which was a minor update that did not add any major forward-facing features for the end user.

To update the Apple Watch, the device must be connected to the charger, have at least 50 percent battery life, and be within range of the iPhone it is connected to. Developers testing the software must download the software via the dedicated Watch app on the connected iPhone.

There will not be a public beta seed of this watchOS software, as Apple has not typically released public betas for watchOS up to this point.

If there are any additional new features added to the mix in watchOS 4.3, we will update this post accordingly. It is likely that this new software will focus on behind-the-scenes tweaks and adjustments, as well as patches for any issues that might have cropped up with the public release of watchOS 4.2.2. It will likely also include performance enhancements and bug fixes as well.

If you are a registered developer, you can download and install the sixth beta of watchOS 4.3 now.
