Apple Shares New Ad for the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8

Yesterday, Apple officially announced the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, confirming plenty of rumors.

And now, one day later, the new smartphones are available to order if you’re a fan of the red design. The handsets are being offered without a premium when compared to the original iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models, so potential owners won’t have to fork over any additional money to get the new red hue.

Now that you can buy one, Apple is starting to market the new handsets, starting with publishing the new ad to its official YouTube channel. This is a 30-second advertisement, and it features not only the iPhone 8 Plus with a colorful red light show, but also the song “That’s It (I’m Crazy” by Sofi Tukker.

Apple had this same ad on its front page yesterday, and for those who watch TV, it’s probably something that will play on a commercial break.

You can watch the new ad just below:

For those who do order the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8/8 Plus today, deliveries should start arriving on Friday, April 13. In-store availability for both handsets should go live on the same day, so if you prefer to just walk into a store and walk out with a phone, you’ll need to wait a few more days.

Our Take

Last year’s (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7/7 Plus was a nice looking phone, but, like a lot of folks, this writer wasn’t a fan of the white front panels. The change to the black front panels is a nice one, but the fact that the iPhone X exists only makes me want a red variant of that model. Rumors were swirling that we might see one this year, but it looks like our best bet is waiting until next year. Keep those fingers crossed.
