iOS 11.3.1 Jailbreak

Coolstar has announced that he plans to release Electra iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak that will support all iPhones and iPads including iPhone X.

As we reported earlier, he has advised jailbreakers on iOS 11 – iOS 11.1.2 jailbreak to save iOS 11.3.1 blobs so they can restore to iOS 11.3.1 even after Apple stops signing iOS 11.3.1 firmware using the futurerestore tool.

He has also advised jailbreakers who have upgraded to iOS 11.3.1 via the OTA (over the air) update method i.e. by installing the update via the Settings app to restore to iOS 11.3.1 using iTunes, idevicerestore or futurerestore to be on the safe side.

Anyone who OTA updated to 11.2/11.3.x, make sure to restore to 11.3.1 to be safe

We don’t know yet if OTA updates could possibly mess up rootfs rw

OTA updates are known to cause issues with the jailbreak process so we also advise users to install iOS updates using iTunes rather than using OTA update.

coolstar will be able to work on iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak as soon as Ian Beer releases the iOS 11.3.1 tfp0 exploit, which he plans to release next week. Beer had released the iOS 11 – iOS 11.1.2 tfp0 exploit, which was used to develop Electra Jailbreak tool for iOS 11 – iOS 11.1.2.

So if you’ve upgraded to iOS 11.3.1 using the OTA method and interested in jailbreaking iOS 11.3.1 then you should restore to iOS 11.3.1 using iTunes to be on the safe side.
