Microsoft has released the first preview build of Office 2019 for Mac for its commercial customers. Microsoft has designed its latest suite of Office apps for customers who are not using its Office 365 subscription and instead prefer its non-cloud offering like old times.
Office 2019 suite includes a new roaming pencil case and ribbon customization, a new focus mode in Word, in-click sequence, Morph transitions, 4K video export in PowerPoint, focused inbox in Outlook, and more. Almost all these features are already available for Office 365 ProPlus users, but owners and users of stand-alone Office for Mac 2016 have been missing out on them.
You can find a detailed change-log of all the changes in Office 2019 for Mac here. Microsoft had released a preview build of Office 2019 for Windows users back in April itself.
There are also features for IT that will help them simplify deployment and management. This will allow IT admins to control the roll out Office updates across all their devices.
The final release of Office 2019 for Mac will ship alongside Office 2019 for Windows in the second half of 2018.
