Apple Finally Stops Selling 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro

2015 15-inch MacBook Pro

After unveiling its 2018 MacBook Pro lineup with faster internals, the company has gone ahead and stopped selling the 2015 variant of the 15-inch MacBook Pro. It was the last model sold by Apple to feature USB-A ports and its MagSafe charging port.

Now that Apple has stopped selling the 15-inch MacBook Pro from 2015, it means that officially you cannot buy a new MacBook Pro from the company featuring USB-A ports or its MagSafe charging port.

All the MacBook Pro variants now sold by Apple solely feature USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports. This means that if all the USB accessories you have are not already making use of the USB-C connector, you would have to embrace the dongle life. The same stands true if you use an external monitor that features an HDMI or DVI/VGA port.

It was also the last model sold by Apple to feature its previous generation non-Butterfly keyboard which many customers still prefer over the company’s existing Butterfly keyboards.

While the 15-inch MacBook Pro might be old and chunky when compared to the 2016 or newer MacBook lineup from Apple, it still offers relatively great performance. If you are interested in picking the 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro, you should scout your nearest Apple retail store or Best Buy for the same. Apple is unlikely to restock the model going ahead so once stocks sell out, the chances of you getting a new unit would become extremely slim.
