The popularity of Fortnite is impossible to ignore these days, and so it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that Apple would want to get the game on as many of its devices as possible. Launching first on iOS was a huge success for both companies, so why not try it on a different platform as well under the Apple brand?
We may be seeing that come to fruition at some point in the future. A report from Dexerto, based on a single line of code that was discovered by @StormLeaks, reveals that a single line of code found within Fortnite has a direct reference to Apple’s tvOS. That could mean that the massively popular battle royale game may launch on Apple’s fourth- and fifth-generation set-top boxes.

It’s worth noting here that this is just a single line of code, and, up to this point, this is the only hint that we’ve seen Fortnite Battle Royale might launch on the Apple TV. Still, for fans of the game who want to play on their Apple-branded set-top box, this may be something to get excited about. At least a little bit.

The popularity alone for Fortnite, the battle royale mode in particular, is reason enough to bring the title to Apple TV. And considering the game is running on a variety of devices already, including the Xbox One (X and S), PC, PlayStation 4, and Android devices, the Apple TV certainly makes sense.
