iOS 12 Beta 6: Everything New in the Latest Beta

Earlier today, Apple released the sixth developer and fifth public beta of iOS 12. With Apple now working hard on finalising iOS 12 features and enhancements ahead of its release in September, the latest beta of the OS packs in a number of minor new enhancements.

These enhancements and changes are aimed at improving the overall experience of using the OS and don’t bring about any major usability changes.

Below is a list of everything that’s new in iOS 12 beta 6:

  • Almost all system apps in iOS 12 beta 6 now have a splash screen. This includes the App Store, iTunes Store, Books app, Music app, and more
  • The font style rendering has been tweaked and it now bold in Apple Maps
  • The background wallpaper from the Home app has been removed. It now uses a solid colour background
  • There’s a new AirPlay icon on the lock screen
  • The default wallpaper list has been rearranged and older iOS 10 wallpapers have been removed from the OS
