Over the last month or so, we have seen a jailbreak being available for iPhones and iPads running iOS 11.2 – iOS 11.3.1. A jailbreak for tvOS 11.2 – 11.3.1 was also released in the same period. Now, joining that list is Apple’s wearable, the Apple Watch. iOS hacker/developer tihmstar has released a public jailbreak for the Apple Watch called ‘jelbrekTime’.
This is the first public release of a jailbreak for the Apple Watch after ‘overcl0ck’ which was released in early 2018 to the public. Like the latter though, ‘jelbrekTime’ is also primarily developer oriented as the developer has released the source code of the jailbreak over at Github. Advanced developers or users will have to compile the necessary tools from the source code at the Github page to jailbreak their Apple Watch.
jelbrekTime supports all Apple Watch Series 3 variants running watchOS 4.1. If your wearable is running a newer version of watchOS, you are out of luck as currently there is no known way of downgrading the wearable to an older version of the OS.
Support for older Apple Watch models running watchOS 3.x and 4.0 can also be added by other advanced developers who have the wearable at their disposal and the know-how to do it.
watchOS 4.0-4.1 *should* work on S3 given the offsets.
*could* work on S1/S2 too.
for watchOS 3.x the exploits needs to be slightly modified.
not sure about older versions https://t.co/VjzRoBrQVm

Since this is the first jailbreak for the Apple Watch Series 3, it remains to be seen what mods the community cooks for the wearable if at all. As of now, this jailbreak is only going to be useful for jailbreak tweak developers who might be interested in coming up with some useful tweaks for the wearable.
