Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen dummy units of the 2018 iPhone leak in photos and hands-on videos. Today, the folks over at MobileFun have published a video which shows off dummy units of the 2018 iPhone X, iPhone X Plus and the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone in black.
The dummy units were sent from its team in China for case testing purposes and they are correct in terms of physical size, port location, and screen size. The dummy unit of the 2018 iPhone X and the iPhone X Plus features a dual-camera setup at the rear, while the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone features a single camera setup at its rear to keep its price down.
Interestingly, MobileFun believes the 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus will be called the iPhone XS, with the smaller 5.8-inch variant simply being referred to as the iPhone X. The naming of the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone is unclear at the moment, though there’s a possibility that Apple might simply refer to it as the iPhone 2018.
The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone is going to be the cheapest iPhone in Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup this year. The company will be keeping the price of the handset in check by using an LCD display with slightly larger bezels and make compromises in other aspects as well. It will, however, come with the same design as its other two siblings and even feature a TrueDepth camera at the front for Face ID. The 2018 iPhone X and the iPhone X Plus will share the same set of internals, though the latter will come with a bigger display and battery life.
What do you think Apple will call its 2018 iPhone lineup? 2018 iPhone X, iPhone XS, and iPhone 2018? Or will the 6.5-inch iPhone be called the iPhone X Plus?
