Apple has its iPhone Upgrade Program to make it easy to buy a new iPhone every year. It’s a solid option for those who don’t want to go through their carrier to upgrade, and want the AppleCare+ warranty bundled together with their monthly payment for their new device.
With the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and the iPhone XR now officially official, it looks like Apple is getting a little ahead of the game and letting the iPhone Upgrade Program customers start planning for their future purchase a bit earlier than previous years. The company has green lit the pre-approval process for its new iPhone lineup beginning today, just hours after the announcements for each new handset wrapped up.
It’s worth noting it appears, at the time of publication, that the pre-approval option is available for the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max right now. Which certainly makes sense considering the iPhone XR doesn’t launch until the end of October. But if that less expensive handset is the one you’re aiming for, you’ll have to wait a bit longer before you can get pre-approved.
For those who want the more expensive options, when you select the “View Pricing” for either the iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max within the Apple Store App, there will be an option get ready for the pre-order. After you select that, you will be able to choose which iPhone model you want, select your wireless carrier of choice, and then finish up the pre-approval process. This will make the official pre-order steps even easier once pre-orders go live at 12:01 AM Eastern on Friday, September 14.
The pre-approval process really does make the process a lot easier, and with the rush that happens every pre-order period for a new iPhone, it should provide a bit of piece of mind as well.
