The iPhone XS and iPhone XS definitely are beautiful and extremely powerful. They also come with a dual-camera setup and feature an improved water-resistance rating over the iPhone X. But they are also exorbitantly expensive. Perhaps Apple understands the $999 iPhone XS is not for everyone which is why it also unveiled the $749 iPhone XR.
The iPhone XR shares the same internals and features as the iPhone XS, but it makes a few compromises to achieve its lower price tag. This includes the switch to a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display, 3GB RAM, and a Series 7000 aluminum chassis. It also only features a single camera at the rear but yet it offers Portrait mode along with Depth control as seen on the iPhone XS and XS Max. It even comes with a TrueDepth camera system at the front for Face ID. And the handset is powered by the same A12 Bionic chipset found inside the iPhone XS and XS Max.
In almost all key aspects, the iPhone XR delivers the same experience as the iPhone XS and XS Max. For most consumers, the iPhone XR is going to do just fine. Apple perhaps realizes this which is why it is putting the iPhone XR on sale from late October instead of accepting pre-orders for the handset alongside the iPhone XS and XS Max.
What’s even better is that Apple is offering the iPhone XR in some cool new colors including Yellow, White, Coral, Black, Blue, and the stunning (Product)Red.
So are you going to pre-order the iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max tomorrow? Or are you going to wait for the iPhone XR until late October? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
