Security Researchers Demo Untethered iOS 12 Jailbreak

iOS 12 Jailbreak

We have some great news for jailbreakers. Security researchers at Alibaba’s Pandora Labs have been able to jailbreak iOS 12 public release.

That was quick as it has hardly been 24 hours since Apple released its highly anticipated iOS 12 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

As you can see in the video below, the security researcher uses the Pandora app to jailbreak iOS 12. It also seems it is an untethered jailbreak, which means you don’t need to use the jailbreak IPA to re-jailbreak your iPhone or iPad after it has been restarted.

However, the security researches at Alibaba’s Pandora Labs are unlikely to release a jailbreak tool as they do it primarily for security purposes.

While that is disappointing, the good news is that the final release of iOS 12 can be jailbroken and that too untethered. So we can hope that hackers like coolstar can also discover them to release Electra Jailbreak for iOS 12.

Back in June, security researcher Liang Chen of KeenLab had managed to successfully jailbreak iOS 12 running on his iPhone X. Security researcher Simone Ferrini has tweeted over the weekend that he had managed to pwn iOS 12 beta 12.
