MacBook Pro Lineup Will Offer Radeon Pro Vega GPU Upgrade Option From Next Month

Apart from its new MacBook Air lineup, Apple has also silently announced a refresh GPU offering for its MacBook Pro lineup The company has announced that starting from next month, it will offer the Radeon Pro Vega GPU as an optional upgrade for its MacBook Pro lineup.

The company claims the new GPU will offer up to 60 percent more performance in demanding workloads like video editing and 3D design.

Apple has not made it clear in its announcement but the new Vega Pro GPU will likely be available as an optional upgrade for the 15-inch MacBook Pro only. There’s no word from Apple on the upgrade pricing.

Apple also today announced new MacBook Pro graphics options that will bring powerful Radeon Pro Vega graphics to MacBook Pro for the first time. These new graphics options deliver up to 60 percent faster graphics performance for the most demanding video editing, 3D design and rendering workloads.

If you are someone who renders a lot of videos or does other GPU intensive tasks on their MacBook Pro, the powerful new Pro Vega GPU will offer a nice performance boost. However, if you have already purchased a 2018 MacBook Pro, you can simply buy and use an eGPU for even better GPU performance.
