If you prefer to pick up your iPhone directly from Apple and SIM-free, so you it’s not locked to a specific carrier right out of the gate, the company has a new option for you.
The iPhone XR, with its 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display, A12 Bionic processor, and various color options is now available as a SIM-free option. That means you can buy the phone now, which starts at $749 for the 64GB option, and then activate at a later date with whichever carrier you want. Of course, nothing else is changing here. You can still get the iPhone XR in White, Black, Blue, Yellow, Coral, or (PRODUCT)RED.
The iPhone XR is also available with 128GB of storage, which is priced at $799. Or you can get 256GB of built-in storage for $899.
Apple typically launches the SIM-free option for its iPhone lineup a little while after the initial launch. This iPhone XR rollout is par for the course. However, Apple did change things up a little bit earlier this year when it launched the iPhone XS and XS Max, with both handsets having a SIM-free option right out of the gate.
If you prefer the SIM-free variant of the iPhone, and you have been waiting to pick up an iPhone XR, then the wait is finally over. Whichever model you choose, it looks like they will all deliver by Monday, November 19, at the earliest. However, you can choose in-store pickup and get your handset today, if you live close enough to an Apple store.
