Apple Now Selling 18W USB-C Power Adapter for $29

It isn’t just the clear case for the iPhone XR that Apple is adding to its online storefront today.

Apple is now officially selling the 18W USB-C Power Adapter as a standalone product. In the United States the accessory is priced at $29. And if it looks familiar, that’s because this is the USB-C power adapter that Apple includes with the newest iPad Pro tablets, which the company launched earlier this year.

Meanwhile, if you’re in Canada, the new USB-C power adapter is priced at $39. The new adapter is also available in other international markets as well.

In the United States, if you opt for in-store pickup it looks like the accessory will be available on Monday, December 10. However, if you choose the fastest shipping option you’ll get it by Friday, December 7. The slowest, and free, shipping option will see the power adapter arrive on December 10.

“The Apple 18W USB‑C Power Adapter offers fast, efficient charging at home, in the office, or on the go. While the power adapter is compatible with any USB‑C-enabled device, Apple recommends pairing it with the 11-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd generation) for optimal charging performance. Charging cable sold separately.”

As mentioned above, you’ll have to get a separate charging cable if you actually want to connect your device to the power adapter. And while Apple recommends it for charging the newest iPad Pro models, the new power adapter can also be used to quick charge Apple’s newer iPhone models, from the iPhone 8 up to the iPhone XS/XR.
