Apple Launches iPhone XR and iPhone XS Trade-in Program in China, Japan, Australia, More

After launching a boosted iPhone XR and iPhone XS trade-in program in the United States, Apple has now launched a similar trade-in program in China. Unlike the U.S. though, the trade-in program is only available for customers through Apple retail stores.

The boosted trade-in program will give existing iPhone customers a higher trade-in value for their device when they upgrade to the iPhone XR or iPhone XS. If customers trade-in an iPhone 7 Plus, they will be able to get the iPhone XR for 4,399 RMB (~$650) while the iPhone XS will set them back by 6599 RMB ($950).

Do note that this deal is only available in-store. Apple is likely not offering this trade-in program via its online store because of the high possibility of fake customers taking undue advantage of this trade-in program and sending it fake iPhones.

Apple is running the offer in China until January 31, 2019, while there’s no word from the company as to how long the trade-in program will run in the United States.

Apple has also started running a similar promotion for its customers in Australia, Japan, the U.K., Canada, and the UAE.

Apple has aggressively promoted this boosted trade-in program in the United States across its retail stores and its website. It remains to be seen if the company will take a similar approach in China as well.
