Epic Games today announced that it has removed the trio of Infinity Blade games from the iOS App Store. Additionally, the company has also removed all IAPs for existing players of the game.
The original Infinity Blade game was released back in 2011 and completely revolutionized the iOS gaming scene. The game was known for its high-quality production value, storyline, and graphics which pushed the boundary of what was possible on an iPhone. Epic Games then followed it up with Infinity Blade II and Infinity Blade III over the years.
Epic Games has had to remove all the Infinity games from the App Store as it has found it increasingly difficult to support the games at a level that meets its standards.
“The Infinity Blade series will always hold a special place for me personally and for Epic as a whole,” Donald Mustard, Global Creative Director, said, “It’s always bittersweet to say goodbye, but we are excited for Spyjinx and what the future holds!”
As a last hurrah for existing players of the game, Epic Games will be rolling out updated Clash Mobs and other surprises in Infinity Blade III. Epic Games will also be bringing characters from Infinity Blade to Fortnite with the upcoming Season 7 update.
If you had already downloaded Infinity Blade previously on your iOS device, you can download it again from the My Purchases section of the App Store. For now, the game is going to be available for download to existing users via this method.
