As announced earlier this week, Apple’s HomePod has now gone up for sale in China. The smart speaker is priced at 2,799 yuan in China and HK$2,799 in Hong Kong.
The Siri-powered smart speaker can be purchased from Apple’s online or retailer store in China and Apple Authorised Resellers.
Since it first launched in early 2017, Apple has slowly but steadily rolled out the HomePod to more markets across the world. After initially being available in the United States, UK, and Australia, Apple expanded the speaker’s availability to France, Canada, Germany, Spain, Mexico, and now China and Hong Kong.
The Cupertino company has taken this time to add more features to Siri on the HomePod in a bid to make it more useful. However, despite these improvements, Siri on the HomePod still has a long way to go to catch up to Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa. On the flip side, HomePod’s sound output is unrivaled by any other smart speaker in the market right now.
