Being able to quickly share something that interests you is important, so it’s always a good thing when apps support the effort.
So, it may be good news to hear that you can now share Netflix movies directly through an Instagram Story if you are so inclined. Variety has the first report out on the new feature, which will allow Instagram users to quickly share what they find interesting on Netflix by showcasing the film or TV show’s artwork in a nice looking way as you can see at the top of this article.
“We’re always on the lookout for ways to make it easier for members to share the Netflix titles they’re obsessing about and help them discover something new to watch,” said a Netflix spokesperson. “We hope our members enjoy this new feature!”
Nothing is changing about Instagram Stories here, so users will still be able to add their own stickers and more to the content they share from Netflix. And this is just a way to spread awareness of a TV show or movie that’s available on Netflix via its cover art. It works for Netflix’s first-party content, but it also covers third-party titles as well.
And while users might not be sharing direct content, like clips from the show or movie, they are providing a quick and easy link back to the content on Netflix. So if someone sees your post about the exceptional The Haunting of Hill House they can simply click on it and jump right into the series’s landing page.
The ability to share Netflix’s content to Instagram Stories is found within the Netflix for iOS app. It’s coming soon to Android.
This is a pretty cool feature. As mentioned above, having the ability to quickly share the stuff you like from one app to another is a great function, whether it’s baked into the operating system you’re using or found within the apps themselves.
