Tim Cook Makes It to Glassdoor’s Top CEOs List for Seventh Straight Year

Glassdoor has published Employees Choice Awards for Top CEOs in 2019. Apple CEO Tim Cook has made it to the list for the seventh straight year. His ranking had slipped down recently, but he is still one of the two CEO’s to rank in the top 100 for all seven years.

Tim Cook has a 93% approval rating from his employees and this has put him at the #69. It is worth noting that Microsoft’s Satya Nadella has been ranked #6 with an approval rating of 98% while Sundar Pichai ranks #46 with a 94% approval rating. The survey was started seven years ago and Tim Cook along with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made it to the top 100 every year since then.

While the employee review is anonymous, Glassdoor assures that the ‘quantity, quality and consistency’ of the reviews is always maintained. When employees submit review they are asked to rate their employer based on various factors. Furthermore, employers are also asked if they approve or disapprove or have no opinion about their CEO’s performance.

“It’s an honor to recognize incredible leaders who, from their employees’ perspectives, exemplify exceptional vision, trust, and communication. Glassdoor’s Top CEOs award continues to be more competitive every year, and I congratulate each leader on their achievement,” said Christian Sutherland-Wong, Glassdoor president and chief operating officer. “Today’s job seekers are looking for leaders who share their values and will empower them to bring their full selves to work. More and more, we’re seeing Top CEOs make decisions to shape the culture of their organizations to help recruit and retain quality talent, which has a direct correlation to fueling business success.”- Glassdoor
