More than one report has hinted that Apple’s new 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to arrive in fall this year. Now Trendforce report has joined the list and says that 16-inch MacBook Pro will indeed be launched this fall.
The Trendforce report, Ming-Chi Kuo report, IHS Markit Jeff Lin report, Digitimes Report, and Economic Daily News have all reported that 16-inch MacBook Pro will be released this fall. However, some of the reports hint at an October launch while the others a September launch. Apple usually releases new Macs in October and is unlikely to make an exception this time.
According to the 3Q outlook for notebook shipments, demand for Chromebooks remains strong thanks to the back-to-school period; at the same time, we see new products hitting shelves, such as Apple’s 16-inch MacBook, Dell’s products with 16:10 aspect ratio, Asus’s dual-screen laptop, as well as various gaming laptops in increasingly hot demand.
Thanks to the reports we already know that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will come with scissor-switch mechanism keyboard. As of now, Apple uses butterfly keyboards which are prone to repeated failures and suffer from reliability issues. The upcoming MacBook will feature a 16-inch display that offers a resolution of 3,072×1,920 pixels with a pixel density of 227. According to analyst Jeff Kin, the 16-inch MacBook Pro will be powered by Intel’s 9th Gen Cofee Lake processors.
That being said, we are not sure whether or not the 15-inch MacBook Pro will be continued. Logically it doesn’t make much sense to offer two variants with little difference in display sizes. Recent rumors have also hinted at narrow bezels.
