As we near Apple’s September launch events new reports with details about the upcoming devices are trickling in. The latest is a report from Digitimes which walks us through all the new stuff we can expect from the 2019 iPhones. Digitimes also confirms certain features which were also mentioned in previous reports.
To begin with, the report claims that 2019 iPhones will come with offer three display sizes, similar to last years lineup. To be precise, upcoming iPhone lineup will include three devices with 5.8-inch OLED display, 6.5-inch OLED and 6.1-inch LCD display respectively. In line with previous reports, the new iPhones will ditch 3D Touch and offer an unchanged Face ID module.
Moving on, the report also mentions that 2019 iPhones will be powered by A13 processors that are manufactured on TSMC’s 7nm process. Furthermore, the devices will also support two-way charging which allows charging AirPods and Apple Watch with iPhone. Apple is also likely to add a new color palette for the 2019 iPhones and this might include green and lavender colors.
Most importantly, the 2019 iPhone XS and XS Max are expected to arrive with the triple rear camera setup. CAD renders and leaks from case maker have also hinted at a newly designed layout for the triple rear camera setup. The third lens on the new iPhone models is expected to be an ultra-wide-angle viewfinder. Meanwhile, iPhone XR successor is expected to get a dual rear camera unit.
Apple is said to be increasing battery capacity on all the 2019 iPhones. The iPhone XS is expected to be backed by a 3,200mAh battery while the XS Max will be powered by a larger 3,500mAh battery. The iPhone XR is likely to be powered by 3,000mAh battery. Also, note that all three iPhones will offer dual SIM support via a traditional SIM slot and eSIM support.
