Apple has announced a screen replacement program for the Apple Watch Series 2 and Apple Watch Series 3. The company says that under “very rare circumstances,” the display on these wearables can crack along the rounded edge.
The crack can then spread across the entire display. The issues are limited to the aluminum models of the Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3. The company has provided a list of all the models that are eligible for the screen replacement program.
If your Apple Watch is eligible and its display has cracked, you can go to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to get its screen replaced for free. Your Apple Watch is eligible for this program for three years from the date of purchase or a year from the date the program started, whichever is longer.
One thing to note is that Apple might in some cases restrict the repair to the original country of purchase. This is not something the company usually does with its repair program but that’s the case here.
If you have already got a similar repair done on your Apple Watch, you can try contacting Apple Support and get a refund of the total repair price.
