If a French case maker is to be believed, Apple will be launching the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max in September this year.
We first heard rumors of Apple possibly calling at least one of the iPhone 11 variant this year as the iPhone 11 Pro earlier this week. As per the documentation of the case maker, the iPhone XR successor will be called the iPhone 11. The 5.8-inch iPhone XS successor has been referred to as the iPhone 11 Pro, while the 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max will be called iPhone 11 Max Pro.
It is unlikely that Apple will call the 6.5-inch iPhone 11 as the iPhone 11 Pro Max. That’s a bit of an odd naming scheme and Apple is unlikely to go with it.
If anything, Apple will call the bigger 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max as the iPhone 11 Pro while the regular 5.8-inch iPhone will be called the iPhone 11. The iPhone XR successor could simply be referred to as the iPhone or the 2019 iPhone XR.
I won’t read too much into this leak as case makers don’t really have any kind of information about the final naming scheme of the iPhones. They can have an idea about the dimensions but that’s about it.
Apple does not decide on the final name of the iPhones until the very last and even very few people inside the company have an idea as to what it is called before its unveiling.
