Developer Teases Chimera iOS 12.4 Jailbreak Support for iPhone XS, iPhone XR

So far we have seen the Unc0ver team work relentlessly on an iOS 12.4 jailbreak for A12/X Bionic devices.  The team has made steady progress though there is still a fair bit of work that’s still left to be done. Jumping on the bandwagon, Coolstar from the Chimera jailbreak team teased an iOS 12.4 jailbreak for iPhone XS and iPhone XR.

There’s no word from Coolstar as to when we can see this jailbreak being released to the public though. He has also not provided any details as to how he has managed to jailbreak iOS 12.4 on iPhone XS and iPhone XR.

The Unc0ver team is working on a code injection method without a PAC bypass but the entire process is extremely complicated. The latest update to the tool added RootFS restore and remount support and the team is now very close to a fully public iOS 12.4 jailbreak for iPhone XS and iPhone XR.

Right now, it is possible to jailbreak A7-A11 iOS devices like the iPhone 7, iPhone 8, and the iPhone SE running iOS 12.4. The A12/X Bionic devices like the iPhone XS and iPhone XR are not compatible since there is no PAC bypass for them.

If you have not already updated your iPhone XS, iPhone XR, or the 2018 iPad Pro to iOS 12.4 in anticipation of a jailbreak, you should do so right away especially now that Apple has released iOS 12.4.1. Apple will likely stop signing iOS 12.4 within the next few days after which it would be impossible to downgrade or upgrade to iOS 12.4.
