Apple today released the eighth beta of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 for developers. The latest beta likely focus on fixing the underlying bugs with the OS and various system apps as Apple prepares iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 for their public release in the second half of September. Apart from these bug fixes though, the latest beta builds also come with a number of other changes and enhancements which we have mentioned below.
iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 come with plenty of new features and changes. If you are not aware of them, check out our detailed iOS 13 feature guide here.
What’s New in iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 Beta 8
Compared to previous beta releases, iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 beta 8 do not contain any major new changes. That’s understandable since Apple is now focusing on fixing all the bugs as the public release of these OSes is just a month away. The OTA update was also around 120MB-130MB in size which makes it clear that iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 beta 8 are just bug-fixing builds.
The latest beta still does not fix all the issues with the Mail app on iOS 13 and iPadOS 13. It is a bit unnerving to see the beta builds ship with such major bugs when they are less than a month away from their public release. Siri Shortcuts Automation is also still missing from this beta release of iOS 13.
Another issue with SMB/CIFS in Files app has been resolved in this beta. It is still not perfect but the feature at least works now.
