Zagg has launched a new keyboard case for iPad mini 5. The new case comes with backlit keyboard, 180-degree viewing angle and offers a battery life of up to two-years. The company is already offering a similar styled keyboard case for 9.7-inch iPads.
The keyboard case offers dedicated function keys and can be charged via micro USB cable. That apart is lightweight and designed to fit in your bag. The keys are backlit in seven different colors and are designed to offer an optimum typing experience. Most importantly, the case allows you to tilt iPad at 180-degree which will offer a laptop-like viewing experience. And it doesn’t require a kickstand to do so.
Zagg’s textured case is designed to save the iPad from external shocks and scratches. The Zagg Folio for iPad mini 5 is currently priced at $99. The two-year battery life will ensure that you don’t have to worry about charging the case often. Moreover, with the USB port, the folio will not depend on the iPad to charge its battery. It is worth noting that Mophie was acquired by ZAGG in 2016.
iPad has been touted as a portable workstation for quite some time. It is for this reason that Apple started offering iPad Pro. Until now the lack of desktop-class apps and an operating system that didn’t offer much for creators played spoilsport. However, Apple is trying to challenge the status quo by offering iPadOS 13 and perhaps an iPad that is designed to double up as a work station.
