Apple has updated the Clips app to support Animojis and Memojis. The company also added new animated stickers for a more fun experience while creating short videos using the free video creation app.
The Clips app, which is available for iPhones and iPads, will now support using Animojis and Memojis along with the usual features such as emojis, filters, music, and text. This offers users a more personalized way of creating short videos.
The updated app also brings support for seven new stickers, including the ones with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse cartoon characters. There’s also a ‘Let It Snow’ poster that “beautifully captures the feeling of winter weather.” The update also brings along support for right to left (RTL) languages, including Arabic and Hebrew.
Animojis, Emojis, stickers, and speech bubbles follow the movement of a user’s face whether they were moving up or down, left or right, and away or close from the camera. Apple was quick to remind us that the iPhone 11 series has a wide-angle front-facing camera that can be used to fit more into the frame while recording selfie videos.
Prior to this update, Animojis and Memojis were limited to FaceTime and Messages. The updated Clips app is now available on the App Store, and you can download it on your iPad or iPhone. The app was last updated in April. If you don’t see the update already, you should be able to install it within a few hours from now.
The app is compatible with iPhone 6s or iPhone SE and later. It is also compatible with iPad Air 2 or later, iPod Touch (7th Gen) or later, running iOS 13 or iPadOS 13 or later. New Animoji and Memoji features are only available for devices with TrueDepth cameras, though.
