Apple today published its list of the best apps and games of 2019. This time around, the company has crowned the best apps and games across a number of platforms including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. There is also a new Apple Arcade category as well.

Below is the complete list of winners across different categories. If you have not tried out the app or game mentioned below, you should take out time this holiday season and definitely do so.

Spectre Camera, the iPhone app of the year from Apple, lets anyone take long exposure shot at the press of a button. Flow by Moleskine is a digital notebook app that will let your creative juices flow with its digital canvas. In the iPhone game of the year — Sky: Children of the Light — one has to fly across sweeping landscapes to help celestial beings find their way back to heaven. Hyper Light Drifter, the iPad Game of the Year, is a 16-bit adventure game in which one has to fight for their survival.

Apart from the list of the best apps, Apple has also made available the list of the most downloaded apps and games on the App Store for 2019. As per the list, Mario Kart Tour was the most downloaded game of 2019 followed by Color Bump 3D,, Call of Duty Mobile. The top paid iPhone game was Minecraft followed by Heads Up!, Plague Inc, and Bloons TD6. 

The list of the top free apps does not spring a surprise with YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and Messenger taking the top 5 spots. Facetune was the most downloaded paid app followed by HotSchedules, Dark Sky Weather, The Wonder Weeks, and AutoSleep Track Sleep. Additionally, Apple also announced its first-ever Apple Music Awards with Billie Eilish winning the Artist of the Year award. The “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X won the Song of the Year award, while Lizzo won the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award. All Apple Music Awards winners will get a plaque that features Apple’s custom silicon wafer suspended between a polished sheet of glass and a machined and anodized aluminum body.

To celebrate Apple Music Awards, Apple will be live streaming the exclusive performance of Billie Eilish which will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater on December 4 at 6:30 p.m. PST.
