iOS 13.4 Beta 2 What's New

Apple recently released the second beta of iOS 13.4 for developers and advanced users. The first beta of the OS brought plenty of new features and improvements to the table. Let’s now have a look at what all new features and changes iOS 13.4 beta 2 brings to the table.

This time around, the changes are not that massive with Apple only tweaking some existing features and adding a couple of minor new ones.

Updated TV App with Granular Settings Over Data Use

The TV app in iOS 13.3 has been updated to provide additional settings over data use. One can now decide between “High Quality” and “Data Saver” mode when streaming content on Cellular. For Wi-Fi downloads, there is a “High Quality” and “Fast Downloads” option. Users now also have the option of enabling/disabling streaming of content over mobile network.

Send CarKey Over Messages

The first iOS 13.4 beta hinted at a new CarKey feature that will allow NFC-compatible car owners to start or lock/unlock it from their iPhone or Apple Watch. Apple is still developing this feature and has added an option to send CarKeys over iMessage in the latest iOS 13.4 beta.

Tweaked Toolbar in Mail App

Apple has once again moved around the icons in the Mail app’s toolbar. The delete icon is now on the far left followed by the folder icon. This is followed by the reply button and the compose buttons. The flag icon has been removed from the toolbar and replaced with the compose icon, the latter being a more useful option for many.

The iOS 13.4 beta 2 also fixes the notification bug which was introduced in the first beta. So far, these are the only changes that have been reported in iOS 13.4 beta 2. If you have noticed any other change that is not mentioned above, do drop a comment and let us know about it!
