Apple’s first smart speaker, the HomePod, launched earlier this year with a price tag of $349. That wasn’t necessarily cheap, but it’s also not the most expensive option out there, either — especially for the quality of sound it produces.
In an announcement that’s going to surprise many, Amazon and Apple have tied hands to bring Apple Music to the former’s Echo devices. Starting mid-December, Amazon Echo devices will be able to stream songs from Apple Music.
If you haven’t opted to make the HomePod, Apple’s first smart speaker, your go-to option and instead have gone with options from Amazon, then you may be happy to know they are learning some more tricks this week.
There are a lot of smart speaker options out there, with the market getting even more crowded as the days go by. But one thing remains true even as 2018 starts to wind down: Amazon is leading the charge in the home.
