FireCore had released an updated version of their jailbreaking tool â€“ Seas0nPass to support tethered jailbreak for Apple TV software update 5.2.1 for Apple TV 2 few days back.
Apple had released Apple TV software update 5.2.1 last month, which includedÂ a number of security related fixes as well as a redesigned Hulu experience.
When I picked up an Apple TV last week and asked folks what I should do with it first, I think it was a tie between return and get an Apple TV 2 and just jailbreak it. Since I didn’t return the Apple TV and have an Apple TV 3, jailbreaking isn’t an option. At least not yet.
Back in May, FireCore had released aÂ new version of Seas0nPass that allowed users to jailbreak theirÂ Apple TV 2Â onÂ Apple TVÂ 5.0.1 (iOS 5.1.1) software update. But Seas0nPass was not compatible with Apple TV 3.
Fast forward to today, and there is still no way to jailbreak Apple TV 3, but there is finally some hope, as 9to5Mac recently reported that the jailbreak for Apple TV 3 is in the works.
