The Apple Watch may have started off as an extension of the iPhone, just another screen to look at and interact with notifications, but Apple’s drive to create a health-oriented wearable have certainly paid off over the years.
Airtel and Reliance Jio, two of India’s most prominent network operators, today announced that they are partnering with Apple to bring the Apple Watch Series 3 with Cellular connectivity to the country. Apple already sells the GPS variant of the Apple Watch Series 3 in the region.

Apple is now offering free repairs for Apple Watch Series 2 models with a swollen battery or units that are not powering on. A new internal document from the company meant for its service partners says that the company has determined under certain conditions, the battery inside some Apple Watch Series 2 units can swell or the unit may not power on entirely.

A new report from Digitimes talks about Apple developing new microLED displays with TSMC, which could in-turn make its way to an augmented reality wearable as well as upcoming iterations of the Apple Watch. The displays will reportedly measure 1.4 and 0.8 inches, which should be adequate for the Apple Watch and a new AR based wearable. We have previously heard about Apple wanting to switch to microLED panels for iPhones and the Apple Watch.
