Apple launched Beats 1 along with Apple Music back in June 2015. While Apple Music is an on-demand streaming service, Beats 1 is a radio service with a number of channels to suit the users’ liking. Apple Music executive Larry Jackson has now claimed that Beats Music is the “Biggest Radio Station in the World”, which is no surprise given that it’s available in large parts of the world. Apple, as expected, refrained from providing the exact number of listeners for Beats 1.
Earlier today, it was confirmed that the immensely creative, talented, and influential artist Prince had passed away, at age 57.
It has been recently announced that Apple’s ad-supported radio will no longer be free of charge starting January 29, 2016, which is only about two weeks away.
Earlier in 2015, Apple officially launched the Beats 1 radio station alongside the debut of Apple Music. Now, as 2016 inches ever closer, it looks like Apple is gearing up for expansion.
Apple Music senior director Ian Rogers, the key lead of Beats 1, has left Apple just two months after the service made its big debut. His departure, which was first reported by The Financial Times, has this morning been confirmed by Apple.
Ever since the arrival of Beats 1, the 24/7 streaming online radio station, DJ Zane Lowe has been busy. But he recently found some time to speak with Billboard and opine on a variety of topics.
