It has been a long time coming, but Microsoft Office is finally available on the iPhone. Strangely, it is not available on the iPad, and for both iOS and Android tablets Microsoft still recommends using the web-based apps for free SkyDrive accounts. The iPhone client can only be used by those with an Office 365 subscription, which costs $100 for an annual subscription. If you are a subscriber, you download and sign in or create an account. What you get is an application which is practically a direct port of the Office suite found on Windows Phones.

The update doesn’t have the UI overhaul seen in other iOS devices, but it does include iTunes Radio and a few other changes.

When Apple introduced FaceTime over cellular feature in iOS 6 last September, AT&T only allowed customers with a Mobile Share plan to use the feature.
Since then it has been slowly expanding access to the feature to other customers.

It has been widely speculated that Apple will launch a cheaper iPhone later this year.
Folks at Japanese blog Macotakara have got their hands on a case manufactured by MGM, which they claim is for Apple’s lower-cost iPhone.

I’ve been using the Neat app on iOS for some time, and I’ve found that I generally use it more often than my NeatDesk scanner. The ability to scan my receipts and business cards while at events is far more efficient than holding on to them all in a semi-organized fashion until I get home. The original Neat mobile app, coupled with Neat’s NeatCloud service, has really helped me adopt a paperless lifestyle far better than any other suite of apps.

Back in May of this year, NEC unveils the “world’s first” liquid cooled smartphone. Forget about pumps and radiators, this is a smartphone we’re talking about after all; it uses heat pipe technology. The principle is really simple to understand. Fill a metal tube up with a liquid, usually a mix of water and ethanol. Attach one end of it to something hot, like a CPU, and the other end to something cool. When the CPU gets hot, the warm liquid travels towards the cool element thanks to entropy, and then the cool liquid comes to do its job.

If you like to keep your iPhone’s status bar clean then you will like this new jailbreak tweak.
Vox is a new jailbreak tweak that has just hit Cydia, which merges the battery percentage with the battery status bar indicator into a minimalistic indicator in the form of a dot.
