Toktumi has released their iPad app – Line2 HD in the App Store. Just like Line2 for iPhone, which adds a second phone number to the iPhone, Line2 HD app gives your iPad a phone number with visual voicemail and if you’ve an iPad 3G, it turns it into an iPhone.
Line2 for iPhone was launched last September and according to TechCrunch has more than 50,000 paying customers.
Almost every event Apple holds to preview its devices or software includes a section where the company calls up a third party developer to show something cool they had built either on the device or using the software. The iOS 4 preview had Skype and Pandora, last year’s WWDC keynote where the iPhone 4 was launched had Zynga and Activision.
Last month, a district court in Düsseldorf, Germany had granted Apple a preliminary injunction against Samsung’s Android-based Galaxy Tab 10.1, barring distribution of the product in the entire European Union except for the Netherlands. But the court wasn’t sure if it had jurisdiction outside Germany so decided to enforce it only in Germany.
We had earlier heard rumors about Amazon entering the tablet market, and now TechCrunch’s MG Siegler says that the device is indeed real and is being tested at Amazon’s Seattle HQ. In fact, Seigler even got a hands on with the tablet, unfortunately he wasn’t permitted to click pictures. The device is simply called the ‘Amazon Kindle’, and features a 7-inch capacitive screen.
According to an analyst at The Linley Group, a chip consultancy firm, Apple’s A6 system-on-chip won’t make it to the iPad 3 until July 2012. The A6 processor, successor to the 1 GHz dual-core A5 chip presently powers iPad 2, is expected to power future version of the iPad and iPhone.
We had earlier heard reports of the A6 chips being produced on a trial basis by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
As you may already know, Apple and Samsung are at each other’s throats lately.
Apple first sued Samsung for blatantly copying iPad, Samsung countered sued Apple and ordered Apple to show its next generation iPhone and iPad, which prompted Apple to amend its complaint against Samsung to include more Samsung models and Apple again accused Samsung of slavishly copying Apple’s product.
It looks like iPads are taking over the airlines.

Early adopters of iPad 2 can be relieved, it seems highly unlikely that Apple will launch iPad 3 this year, according to a report by Taiwanese publication – DigiTimes.
It were some rumors and speculations that Apple will launch iPad 3 or iPad 2 Pro with Retina Display in 2011, despite the launch of iPad 2 earlier in the year. But according to DigiTimes, Apple has decided to delay the launch due to the poor yields of the larger Retina Display required for an iPad.
