Apple unveiled iPhone 5 – their hotly anticipated 6th generation iPhone at a special event on Wednesday, September 12.

Pricing:

iPhone 5 will available for $199 for the 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB model, $399 for the 64GB model for a two-year contract.

Last month, T-Mobile rolled out a carrier update for unlocked iPhone 5 users to let them access the carrier’s LTE network and enable visual voicemail. A side effect of the update was that some users began noticing slower speeds on the company’s 1900 MHz netwok.

Nokia is going to come out with a new phone next week. Unfortunately, it’s been leaked to high heaven, and everyone pretty much knows it’s going to be called the Lumia 928. Verizon is expected to offer it, with the highlight feature being insane low light performance. It’ll have optical image stabilization and likely a Xenon flash.

Apple has just released iOS 6.1.4. The update seems to be available only for iPhone 5.

According to the release notes, the minor update brings an updated audio profile for speakerphone.

So it was nice to see folks at Android Authority do us a favor and perform a series of drop tests from various heights to find out the durability of the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S4 compared to iPhone 5.

When Apple launched iPhone 5, display experts DisplayMate concluded after extensive lab tests concluded that it had the best smartphone display.

So with the launch of Samsung Galaxy S4, it was interesting to find out how Galaxy S4′s 4.99 inch Full HD Super AMOLED (1920×1080) display with 441 ppi would perform compared to iPhone 5.’s 4-inch Retina Display.

Unlike the last few ads, which showcased on some of the 850,000 apps designed for the iPhone, this one focuses on people using the iPhone’s camera and its features.

T-Mobile has just started airing a new iPhone 5 commercial titled “Mousetraps,” which not surprisingly takes a dig at rival carriers for making customers sign a two-year contract (mousetrap) for a subsidized iPhone (the cheese).

Last week, T-Mobile had kicked off the launch of Apple’s iPhone on its network with the first iPhone 5 TV ad.
