A new DigiTimes report claims that Apple will be using its own fingerprint technology on the OLED iPhone 8 that will come with a redesigned fingerprint ID solution. The company’s solution makes use of AuthenTec algorithm, a company it acquired in 2012, and Privaris glass identification technology.

In his new note, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that all the three variants of the iPhone 8 will continue to feature a Lighting connector. The devices, however, will support USB Power Delivery for fast charging.
A couple of days back, Wall Street Journal reported that Apple will release two models with traditional LCD screen and a third high-end model with an OLED screen.
It wouldn’t be the Apple news cycle if there weren’t contradictory reports floating around at all times.
According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a good track record when it comes to predicting Apple’s product plans based on his supply chain sources, iPhone 8 will feature a function area below the display.
Apple has been aggressively pushing USB-C ports on its MacBook lineup. So much so, the company did not include one regular sized USB port on its 2016 MacBook Pro lineup. Now, a report from The Wall Street Journal claims that Apple will ditch the Lightning connector in favour of a USB-C port on the iPhone 8 as well.
One could argue that every aspect of the upcoming and oft-rumored iPhone 8 is meant to be a reason to upgrade from any previous version of the smartphone.
The iPhone 8, or iPhone X if you prefer, is rumored to be unveiled later this year, and, with it, Apple is said to be packing in quite a few high-end, noteworthy features.
