A report from Mac Otakara citing reliable sources from Taiwan claims that Apple will be introducing a 5-inch iPhone this year. The model will live alongside the larger 5.5-inch iPhone and the smaller 4.7-inch variant.

Corroborating a rumor from earlier this week, DigiTimes reports that Apple has asked its suppliers to deliver parts and start production of the iPhone 8 earlier than usual. The Cupertino company reportedly wants its supply chain partners to start delivering parts and components for production from the second half of Q1, 2017.
This year, it’s expected that Apple will launch three new iPhones: An iPhone 7s, the iPhone 7s Plus, and, the flagship, the iPhone 8 (or iPhone X).
The iPhone isn’t a cheap device. With the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus, the cost for an unsubsidized handset runs the price tag up to $969.00.
Analyst firm BlueFin Research Partners has received “some indication” from Apple’s supply chain suggesting that the iPhone 8 production will be ramped up in June. This is earlier than usual considering Apple’s iPhone production timeframe in the past where production is usually ramped up around July.
The iPhone 8 is rumored to be a noteworthy update for the iPhone family, seeing as it’s the tenth-anniversary handset.
Rumors and leaks have continuously pointed to Apple using an all-in-one wireless charging solution from Energous dubbed WattUp that uses radio frequency to wirelessly charge your phone. However, an investor note from Copperfield Research points out that Apple will likely go ahead with its in-house inductive charging technology for the iPhone 8.
