In his latest note issued to investors, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities says that he expects all variants of the 2017 iPhone to feature an all-glass design to facilitate wireless charging. Kuo: 5.8-inch iPhone 8 with OLED Display to Have Smaller 5.1″ to 5.2″ Active Touchscreen Area For ‘Specific Design Purposes’
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has issued a new note clarifying the confusion surrounding the display sizes of the 2017 iPhones. The reputable analyst notes that the OLED iPhone that Apple will be launching next year will feature a 5.8-inch display size.
At this point, it is all but given that Apple is considering using OLED displays on the next-generation iPhone 8. Multiple reports have suggested that the company will be using the OLED display on the larger 5.5-inch Plus model of the phone, which might also feature curved edges and a bezel-less design similar to the Galaxy S7 edge.
Expectations for next year’s iPhone lineup are high, and analysts are obviously keen on stoking that fire quite a bit.
According to recent rumors, Apple will make its smartphone displays even larger for next year’s iPhone 8 series, but reduce the size of the displays around the screen so that the handset’s footprint isn’t that much bigger. But do you want a larger iPhone display?
Two Barclays analyst are claiming that the iPhone 8 will feature a bezel-less design. The analysts, Blayne Curtis and Christopher Hemmelgarn, have made these claims citing supply chain sources that they spoke to on their recent trip to Asia.
Just a few days after Japanese website Nikkei reported that Apple will be launching three different screen sizes of the iPhone 8 in 2017, the publication reports that of the three models, the largest and premium 5.5-inch model will make use of a curved OLED display.
