When Apple launched the iPhone 8, the company extensively talked about the A11 Bionic chipset powering the handset. A new benchmark test conducted by Tom’s Hardware has now concluded that the iPhone 8 (which went on sale earlier today in some regions), is comfortably the fastest phone available in the market right now.
iPhone 8 Release Date, News and Rumors
On paper, the camera specifications of the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone 7 Plus might seem very similar to each other. Apple did mention during the iPhone 8’s launch event that it is using a newer sensor on the handset for improved imaging performance, though given how little the company talked about it, most users expected the improvement to be incremental. Turns out, that is not the case. DxOMark has just put the dual-camera system of the iPhone 8 Plus through its paces and gave it a rating of 94, beating the likes of the HTC U 11 and Google Pixel XL by a fair margin.
You probably know everything about the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, and the teardown of the new iPhones seems to have confirmed the other unknowns such as the amount of RAM and capacity of the battery.

Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus went on sale earlier today. I managed to get my hands on a black (Space Gray) iPhone 8 Plus. With the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus making their way into the hands of consumers and Apple stores in launch countries, the first set of unboxing videos of the handset have also made their way to the internet. Popular YouTuber MKBHD has posted an unboxing video of the Silver iPhone 8 and Gold iPhone 8 Plus and also shared his first impressions of them.
The iPhone 8 has just about started making its way into the hands of customers in selected parts of the world, and the folks over at iFixit have already gone ahead and posted a teardown of the handset. To be able to get their hands on the handset so early, the iFixit team flew to Australia since due to a time zone difference, new iPhones and other Apple devices first go on sale in the continent.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are all set to go on sale tomorrow (i.e. September 22) and if you have already pre-ordered one, it means that you are looking for a new case to go along with it as well. The use of glass panels at the front and back of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus also makes it a necessity to use a case with the handsets.
