The iPhone Dev Team who had reported last week that they have cracked iPhone 3G’s baseband and are getting closer to unlock iPhone 3G have published a customary post on their blog to tell us that they have managed to successfully jailbreak and unlock the first generation iPhone running iPhone firmware 2.2 Beta 2 which was recently seeded to developers of its iPhone Developer program.

iPhone firmware 2.2 is not yet available to iPhone users.

Apple has seeded its developers of the iPhone Developer program with the second beta version of iPhone Firmware 2.2.

Mac Rumors is reporting that iPhone Firmware 2.2 beta 2 has Google’s Street View fully enabled. So we can expect the feature whenever the firmware is released to iPhone users.

In addition to Google Street View, iPhoneYap is reporting that you
will also be able to get walking and public transportation routes as

In a statement to developers on its iPhone Developer Program website; Apple had announced a few weeks back that they have dropped the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for released iPhone Firmware. Apple has now posted a new iPhone developer agreement as promised.

To kick things off, Apple has also launched an iPhone developer forum which is open to all approved iPhone developers.

There are also reports that Apple has started seeding iPhone firmware 2.2 Beta 2 to iPhone developers which requires them to first accept the new developer agreement.

I had mentioned that Apple had not provided much information about the changes in the first beta version of iPhone firmware 2.2 (Build 9M2611) that was seeded to developers yesterday other than a note that it is for "compatibility testing".

However, iPhone Atlas has published a screen shot which reveals that iPhone Safari’s user interface could get a tweak in iPhone firmware 2.2.
