Killer Pool provides the Most Realistic Pool Experience on the iPhone

There are quite a few pool games (also called Pocket billiards) available for the iPhone on the App Store. But Sauce Digital claims that their iPhone game - Killer Pool provides "the most realistic pool experience" on the iPhone.

After playing it for the last few days, I must admit that its true. Killer Pool by Sauce Digital is just made for the iPhone (like Freznic).

Freeverse Demoes TV version of Popular iPhone Game - Moto Chaser

TV version of iPhone game Moto Chaser

I had reported about the undocumented TV-out feature in iPhone Firmware 2.2 SDK which allow third-party iPhone apps to send video out through the dock connector to an external screen like a television.

Freeverse, the developer of popular iPhone game, Moto Racer (now renamed as Moto Chaser) with help from well-known iPhone developer and blogger at Ars Technica, Erica Sadun has just created the TV version of Moto Chaser using this TV-out feature which is quite impressive.

TMSOFT Ports Quake to the iPhone; Features Include Accelerometer Controls

We had reported that ZodTTD, the iPhone developer who had ported Quake to the jailbroken iPhone had announced that he had submitted his free iPhone app to Apple and hoping to get an approval.

However, his effort seems to have run into trouble as  id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead informed Touch Arcade that ZodTTD’s port would be illegal and will not be allowed in the App Store as it was not sanctioned by the company.

If you are a Quake fan and disappointed to hear that news then there is some ray of hope as another iPhone Developer, TMSOFT has also ported Quake to the iPhone. They are looking at options of licensing the game from id software and publishing it via the App Store.

Frenzic - A Fast-Paced Puzzle Game: One of the Best iPhone Games

There are very few iPhone games that are available on the App Store that you can say are just made for the iPhone.

iPhone game - Frenzic developed by Icon Factory and Artris Software which makes use of iPhone's revolutionary multi-touch capabilities is one such game. Its a fast-paced, puzzle game with excellent graphics.

I wanted to write a review ever since I started playing Frenzic last week. However the release of iPhone firmware 2.2 had kept me busy.

SGN's iFun app Turns the iPhone into a Wii-like Controller

Steve Jobs, Apple’s chief executive and co-founder, in an interview with Wall Street Journal had recently commented: 

“I think the iPhone and iPod touch may emerge as really viable devices in the mobile games market this holiday season.”

He seems to have got a glimpse of Social Gaming Network's (SGN) iFun iPhone app which turns the iPhone into a Wii-like controller while the actual games are played on the computer that was released yesterday.

Quake Ported to the iPhone Could be Coming to the App Store Soon

We have already seen Quake and Quake 3: Arena, popular first-person-shooter games ported to the iPhone but have been available only to users who have jailbroken their iPhone.

The good news is that Quake might be available to everyone via the App Store as ZodTTD who had ported Quake to the iPhone has just announced on his blog that he has recently submitted his free iPhone app to Apple and hoping to get an approval soon.

Free Tetris iPhone App, Tris Will Be Removed Soon: Download your Free Copy Today [Updated]

Noah Witherspoon, the developer of Tris, a free version of Tetris has reported on his blog that he has received a notice from Apple to remove his popular iPhone App as "The Tetris © Company", the owner of Tetris© IP and developer of the official Tetris iPhone app believes that it violates its copyright.

Quake for JailBroken iPhone now available on Cydia Installer

We had reported in April that the iPhone hacking community had ported Quake to the iPhone. However at that time there were no details available on how to install it.

We finally have news that Quake for iPhone is now available on Cydia Installer which should make it easy to install it on a jailbroken iPhone.

NES App v2.3.0: Nintendo Emulator for iPhone now includes Accelerometer support

ZdZiarski has just released an updated version (v2.3.0) of the popular NES app: Nintendo Emulator for iPhone with accelerometer support.

NES app was one of the first native applications developed for the jailbroken iPhone. It emulates the hardware in a Nintendo Entertainment System, allowing you to play games such as Mario Bros., Bomberman on your iPhone.
