Hero of Sparta for iPhone: An Entertaining, Graphic Rich Game [iPhone Game Review]

Hero of Sparta for iPhone

Hero of Sparta, a Gameloft creation ranks among the best  iPhone apps available on the App store and for all the right reasons. The game has some amazing graphics and concepts that are fairly new to the world of iPhone gaming.

This game has been around for some time but I just downloaded it and liked it so much that I wanted to share it with you folks. Worth mentioning is that this game is available at a discounted price of $.99, which is $9 less compared to its actual price and according to me is a steal.

Apple to Charge for Redownloading iPhone Apps in iPhone OS 3.0?

Apple to charge for redownloading apps

iPhoneDocked tweeted that he was asked to 'purchase' an app while trying to redownload it. Other developers have also reported similar behavior on iPhone OS 3.0 beta, while trying to redownload apps.

Redownloading iPhone apps is a very common practice among iPhone users, I have deleted and redownloaded iPhone apps many times. The current App Store FAQ states that the user does not have to pay twice for redownloading but the new message could mean that Apple is looking to introduce this change with iPhone OS 3.0.

Flight Control 1.1: Addictive iPhone Game gets even Better

iPhone game - Flight Control

Firemint recently released the new version of Flight Control. The simplicity and addictiveness of Firemint's iPhone game continues to grow.

Its back at the number one spot on the App store. The price remains at $.99 (which is 60% off its full price) but for a limited time!

I had enjoyed reviewing Flight Control as mush as I enjoyed playing it. The latest version has taken player feedback in to consideration and has come up with a set of good features and fixes.

Apple Removes Deeply Offensive iPhone Game "Baby Shaker" from App Store; Issues an Apology for Approving it

We have seen quite a few iPhone apps removed or banned from the App Store by Apple for reasons such as copyright issues, duplicating functionality, offering tethering functionality, based on limited utility, content or materials found objectionable, just a ridiculous app etc.

This time Apple has removed a controversial iPhone game called "Baby Shaker" that generated outrage as the animation in the game suggested that a player was silencing the baby by murdering it as a proper shake caused two large red Xs to appear on the baby's eyes.

Apple has also issued an apology for approving the iPhone game.

TouchSports Tennis '09: Impressive 3D Tennis Game for the iPhone

TouchSports Tennis 09

We had mentioned TouchSports Tennis '09 back in November 2008 when Handheld Games Corp’s CEO Thomas Fessler had revealed that performance of their 3D TouchSports Tennis iPhone game is noticeably better on the 2nd generation iPod Touch as compared to the iPhone 3G, iPhone and 1st generation iPod Touch.

After watching the impressive demo video of Tennis '09; I had purchased the iPhone game, but it had issues running on my jailbroken iPhone 3G.

However, I didn't remove it from my iPhone, so couple of days back when I tried to launch it again; to my surprise it worked (as the developer had released an update to fix the compatibility issues). So I got a chance to finally play the iPhone game and was impressed.
