FM radio could soon be coming to your iPhone and iPod Touch. According to a tip received by the folks at 9to5Mac, Apple is working on an in-house Radio iPhone app for iPhones and iPod Touch. This iPhone app will be able to run in the background; similar to iPod app and also incorporate other functionalities available on the iPod Nano FM radio feature that includes the ability to pause live programming.
Speed Test of New iPod Touch Confirms it is Up to 50% Faster
Apple had announced at last week’s special event that the new third generation iPod Touch is up to 50% faster than the 2nd generation iPod Touch and includes support for OpenGL ES 2.0, which will improve performance, especially while playing iPhone games.
Macworld performed some basic speed tests on the 3rd generation iPod Touch to verify Apple’s claim.

Apple Investigating Exploding iPhone Incidents
Reuters reports that a spokesperson from the European Union's consumer safety division has stated that Apple is investigating the incidents where users have alleged that their iPhones exploded.
Apple believes these incidents are ‘isolated’ but will carry out tests to identify the root cause of the problem.
Apple’s Media Event on September 9th? Might Launch Two Tablets?

Folks at All Things Digital are reporting that Apple has scheduled a media event for Wednesday, September 9th in San Francisco. They also claimed that according to their sources, there will be no mention of announcing the much-anticipated tablet computer.
Meanwhile, BusinessWeek cites analyst Richard Doherty, who claims that Apple has developed two prototype tablet computers and may launch them as early as September.
Apple’s Planning Special Event on Sept 8th to Announce New iPod Touch?
MediaMemo is reporting that they have heard from multiple media sources that Apple is planning a Keynote Event in September.
Apple had held the "Let's Rock" special event on Sept. 9th last year, which was mostly focused towards music where they announced the new iPod Touch, iPod Nano and announced the release of iPhone OS 2.1. So it is possible that Apple could hold the event on Sept. 8th.
