We all know how addictive Flappy Bird was, especially after it went off the surface with people willing to pay even $20,000 for iPhones containing the game. And to spark off that addiction yet again, Rovio has launched its own unique retro take of the game with ‘Retry’ which will require users to fly a plane instead of a bird.
Angry Birds developer Rovio said it is working on a new game that is “epic” in more ways than one, reports Kotaku. The new game, Angry Birds Epic, breaks from the traditional Angry Birds slingshot game by offering a role-playing, turn-based combat game. It will be a big move into a new game genre for the company that created one of the most popular mobile games to date.
Rovio has released the popular Facebook game, Angry Birds Friends for the iPhone and iPad.
As one would expect, Angry Birds Friends for iOS comes with Facebook integration and allows you to play the game with your friends on Facebook.
I had gotten pretty tired of the whole Angry Birds thing, at least until all the apps went on sale! I took that opportunity to get a few of the apps I didn’t have (Star Wars and Space, actually) and I found that Angry Birds Space is pretty freaking fun (and amazing) to play. The nuances of gravity add so much more “fun with physics” to the game. Today Angry Birds Space has an update with 30 new levels and a new physics challenge for you—water.
If you get an email that tells you about a game made by folks who used to be part of Rovio, you can’t help but want to check it out. Boomlagoon, made up of former Rovio people, launched their first game today called Noble Nutlings and, wow, it’s crazy fun and free to boot.
Yesterday I caved and bought Angry Birds Star Wars. I didn’t think I’d like it, but I do. I should have waited until today though because Rovio has just made all it’s iPad games $0.99 for a limited time.
The Angry Birds Franchise is one of the best selling iOS games of all time. With Regular, Seasons, Rio, Space, Star Wars, and even Bad Piggies apps (not to mention toys and all the rest), there doesn’t seem to be any stopping Rovio. Today, as it happens, is the 3rd birthday of Angry Birds and with birthdays come presents, this time for us!
